First post in almost a year...kinda sad when you think about it.
Anyway, the new LEGO Justice League episode was released 2 weeks ago so I thought I might let you guys know how it all went down.
The entire episode was animated last year, before my hiatus. The reason I didn't start editing sooner and releasing the episode was because it's not all of it. What is now known as LEGO Justice League - Nightwing / Green Arrow is actually the first part of a much longer episode. The script is around 14 pages long and I didn't have the time to animate all of it, so I decided to edit what I had, release it and make the rest of the script as a separate episode.
I want to get back to the good old days and get a new episode out every couple of months. This means that I have to cut down on the length of the episode or I won't be able to finish it in time. Just as a FYI, the next script is 20 pages long. There's no way that I'll be able to make that video in just 2 months, so I'll have to split it in different parts. I think a 4-4.5 mins episode is reasonable.
Now, regarding the video itself, this was a first for me when it comes to lighting. It was the first time I used little LEDs to light my set. You can see them most clearly on the rooftop and in the warehouse. The LEDs are awesome and I can't wait to use them again. It was also the first time I used a black light. That is how I got the glowing effect in the club. I used green trans neon pieces that light up when you use a black light, which gave the set a bit more personality rather than having everything blue.
